As requested by someone, heres a look at the Celtics at Bucks 1st quarter with Brandon Jennings starting… Also, someone was asking why there was no stamina bar, I’ve been playing with fatigue off so it doesn’t show, but I switched it in this video so you can see it **EDIT** Ok, I’m done making vids for now, if I get bored later, I might do a few more but thats it folks… If you say I suck cuz how I play in this video then stop being stupid, I’m making all these videos to show the game and only just to show the game to the people requested, so I’m trying to just get the video done, you really think I care about gameplay right now? ALL THESE GAMES ARE AT DEFAULT SLIDERS and Hall of Fame difficulty, I have not tested my own on these yet but if you are interested, read below! ***If anyone is interested in making the game even more realistic, I have some sliders that I’m taking from 2k9, but I must warn you that I play at a slow pace and I play 11 minute Hall of Fame, but there is none of the comback crap and the end scores are from 70s-low 100s, rarely in the 100s anyways and all stats are VERY realistic to the real NBA! Just send me a private message with your email.***

March 31st, 2010Never Judge a Book by It’s Cover in Girls Basketball
March 30th, 2010

Have you ever heard the quote “Don’t Judge a Book by It’s Cover”? This basically means to take a closer look at something before you judge it or when you have only seen the surface or outside of something or someone, you can’t know what’s on the inside. Now how does this relate to girls basketball.
I was about to coach a game in a tournament. My team and I where standing in the gym waiting to get on the court. Then our opponents entered. They were HUGE. My team was not small in size but compared to them.— They were giants.
As the game proceeded, I noticed something. These girls were big but they were not very good basketball players. They only had one option on offense and she could only dribble one way.
I had a team of at least 4 Division 1 Women’s college basketball caliber players, in which 3 did receive division 1 athletic scholarships. Guess what the outcome of the game was? We lost.
Now how did we lose a game where I had a team being lead by 4 top players against a team with one player that could only go one way?
We judged the book by the cover. When that team walked in the gym all big and in black uniforms, in our minds we were defeated. We lost the game before we even stepped on the floor to play. It did not matter that we really outmatched the other team in every position. We had already loss the game when the score was still zero-zero. We felt that since this team was bigger than us. They could beat us. And that’s what happened.
In girls basketball, always believe that you can not be defeated no matter how big, strong, or talented a team is.

Girls Basketball College Selection Tips IV
March 29th, 2010

In the previous three Girls Basketball College Selection Tips articles, I have given 6 tips to consider when deciding what University to play basketball for. Here is another tip.
Academic Assistance
Sometimes it is forgotten that you are a student-athlete and not just a basketball player. Life as a student who is involved in athletics on a collegiate level is not easy. For example, consider this daily schedule. You have already been to one practice before class. After class, your class mates are heading back to the room to study or relax and you are heading to another two to three hour practice. You do not get the opportunity to relax nor study until late in the evening. Some may say that’s how it was when you where in high school. Trust me it is not the same. As you look at colleges, find out what kind of academic support is available, if any.
Questions to ask the recruiting coach: What type of academic support do basketball players have? Is there assistance to help you plan out your degree program? What kind of assistance is available to help you select your classes? What kind of tutoring services are available? Are you required to participate in study hall?
Academic assistance is extremely important while playing basketball at the collegiate level. Take advantage of being at a University that holds in high regard taking care of their athletes academically. It says that the University is concerned about you in the classroom and not just on the basketball court.

Tips For Co-Parenting Children When You’re Divorced
March 28th, 2010
Image : http://www.flickr.com
When two people get divorced and there are children involved, the perfect set-up is when both parents can share the responsibility for the children. Regardless of whether the parents have irrevocable differences or not, their kids have to know that they are loved by both parents.
When one parent is absent and does not participate in their child’s life, the effects on the child can be seen in the way they act or in some cases act up. The following are a few tips to use when you and your spouse are not together but still want to co-parent your children.
1) Make a point of knowing when there are special events or meetings that need to be attended at your child’s school. If they participate in an extracurricular activity such as football or basketball, do not forget to attend their games. This is an extremely important activity to them and your not being at the games means that you do not care – at least to them.
2) Whether you share custody or the children stay at one parent’s home most of the time and spend weekends at the other’s, it is important to make yourself available when it is your time to spend with them. The time that you have now will be time that will never be available again. There should be nothing that is more important to you than spending time with your children.
3) Share the job of picking them up from school. They will be happy that the parent they do not live with is picking them up and you will get to spend a little quality time with your children in between visitations.
4) Work out appointments they may have so that the two of you can share taking them to the dentist or the doctor. This is a sometimes traumatic experience for smaller children and they may feel more at ease with one parent more so than the other, especially if the appointment is going to be one that is less than pleasant.
5) When one parent has an out of town meeting or is ill, make sure the other one is there to take care of the children. This will make the children feel more at ease about the other parent being out of the picture for a while and they are less likely to be upset.
6) Stick to the basic rules that have been set for the children. One parent cannot be the good guy and one the bad guy. The rules that are in place for the good of the children need to be adhered to by both parents. Do not use your guilt to allow your children to do things they would not normally be allowed to do.
7) Do not pump your children for information about the other parent. This can be really upsetting for children. They are already in a situation where they do not have both parents in the home like they are used to having. They need to know that you are there to listen but you should never ask questions such as, “Did mommy say anything about daddy today?” This is putting the child is a bad spot and if you want to know if she talked about you, then call her and ask her.
These tips will help you and your spouse be the best parents that you can – even after you’re divorced.

March 25th, 2010The first half was Reggie Miller’s. The game belonged to Allen Iverson. Iverson scored a career playoff-high 45 points, including 19 in the third quarter, as the Philadelphia 76ers overcame Miller’s 41 points, beating the Indiana Pacers 116-98 Tuesday night to even their first-round series at 1-1. Game 3 of the best-of-five Eastern Conference quarterfinals is Saturday in Indiana. “I’m going to remember this game for a long time,” said Iverson, who also had nine assists. “I’ve been playing a lot off my God-given ability. This game took a lot of thinking. I’m pleased with my mental aspect coming into the game… When guys doubled me, I found my teammates and they hit the shots. I don’t think I forced too many things.” Aaron mckie had 19 points and George Lynch added 16 for Philadelphia, which finished as the top team in the East for the first time since 1983-84. Jalen Rose had 18 and Jermaine O’Neal added 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Pacers, who were down just 61-59 at halftime after getting 33 from Miller. “I wish it was reversed,” Miller said. “The game is four quarters. He drilled a 17-footer, another long jumper and hit a 3-pointer to give the Sixers their biggest lead to that point, 88-76, with 1:11 left. After Rose hit a jumper, Iverson nailed another 19-footer as the sellout crowd of 20739 at the First Union Center chanted …
OJ Mayo – HS Mix
March 24th, 2010“This is only a fan made video and is not made for monetary gain. No copyright infringement intended.” Sorry for the bad quality. Visit:www.ojmayonnaise.com High School: In 2003, Mayo would transfer to North College Hill (NCH) High School for the 9th grade and move in with his grandfather who lived across the street from the high school. This allowed OJ to regularly arrive at the gym by 6 am to shoot 500 jumpers and work on his game, going through various basketball drills. After school, he would go to the team practice where he played with teammate and good friend, Bill Walker, who also transferred from Rose Hill. After practice, Mayo, Walker, and their teammates would often stay until 10 or 11 at night to work on their games or workout. Soon, people were calling OJ Mayo the next lebron James. Because of lebron, high school players were being hyped earlier than ever and Mayo had already been written about in major sports magazines such as ESPN, Sporting News, Sports Illustrated, and Slam. Mayo was being called The Next One in homage to lebron James being The Chosen One. NCAA Basketball Schedule
March 23rd, 2010
Image : http://www.flickr.com
NCAA Basketball games run from the beginning of November through to the beginning of April. They end with the NCAA Men’s Division 1 Basketball Tournament. There are hundreds of games to be played during the course of the season between the colleges in Divisions 1, 2 and 3. In Division 1 alone there are 341 schools in 31 conferences. Then there are 23 Division 2 conferences. Due to the sheer number of teams involved in the college games, the NCAA basketball schedule is very busy.
The NCAA basketball schedule will start around the time of Halloween and opens up with a lot of non-conference games and some tournaments. By January, the teams will all be playing each other in their particular conference. As I have said, there are quite a number of conferences and lots of teams in each. This amounts to quite a lot of games when you bear in mind the fact that each team will play all the others in the conference. Teams that come out on top in the conference league will play for the Conference Tournament. The winners of these tournaments will then automatically be a part of ‘March Madness’. This is the affectionate title given to the NCAA Basketball Tournament which gives a chance for any of the 65 teams involved to qualify as one of the Final Four. The winner out of these will come away with the National Championship trophy.
It is not always easy to get hold of an NCAA basketball schedule as the complete listing is a very comprehensive timetable. There are very few people who are actually interested in seeing the whole listing in its entirety. Most people will only be interested in their own college and the conference which it plays in. For this reason, schedules are usually split into groups.
The NCAA has a great website where you are able to check the location of games on any given day. Games are being played at least every couple of days and in the mid season period sometimes there is rarely a day goes by without a game listed. Individual colleges are also good places to get a NCAA basketball schedule. Again, they may not have a complete listing of all the games over all the conferences, but they would be able to list the games that are taking place in their particular conference and the dates of their inter-conference clashes.
Another place which can be a valuable source of information when it comes to the NCAA basketball schedule is a reputable ticket agency. The always have knowledge of the games that are being played, simply because they are responsible for ticket sales. One great website which has a comprehensive listing of all the conferences is tickectcity.com. Here it is easy to access information regarding the times and location of the games. Also, as you would imagine, you will be able to buy tickets to see your favourite college team in action.

In-Ground Basketball Hoop – The Pros and Cons
March 22nd, 2010
Image : http://www.flickr.com
In-ground basketball hoops can be seen in schoolyards and parks the world over. Children and adults alike gather for a lively game of hoops, sometimes as often as every day in such places where all you have to bring is a ball and a drive to win.
With this type of equipment, there is no base to possibly get in the way of that slam dunk landing. Materials used to construct the poles are rigid and sturdy, as well as weather resistant, often times featuring a strong powder coat finish which is rust and scratch resistant. Backboards are available in a variety of sizes, from the standard 72″ down to 54″ for the smaller space. Backboards are also available in an array of construction materials, from new technology Polycarbonate boasting shatter proof properties, to the traditional tempered glass that is still used in professional settings. Materials such as steel, fiberglass and acrylic are also used in making backboards.
Many poles are adjustable, making it easy to play with kids of all ages. Finding a unit with a range of up to 4 feet helps to offer something for everyone. Some come in pieces, and others are single unit, solid style. Solid poles will be more sturdy and hold up incredibly against all the beatings the backboard will take. Flex hoops with springs also help to cushion the impact from the ball and hands that may hang on after a dunk.
Once installed, an in-ground hoop is ready to go for several seasons of use! It just may take a few days to get it completely ready. The first step in setting up an in-ground hoop is to be sure of the location you wish to place it in. Once in, it will be there for good. For this reason, you want to be absolutely sure the location is exactly what you want and what will work best for your space and lifestyle.
When you have chosen the location for your hoop and you have the necessary concrete from your local home improvement store, you will cut a hole into your existing concrete that is 24″ diameter by 36″ deep. Then you will place the plate and J-bolts into the hole and pour cement into the hole. You will want at least 15″ of the pole to be buried in concrete, so it may help to mark the pole 15″ from the bottom. Using a leveler will help you to know your pole is inserted properly, straight up and down. If your pole is in pieces, you will need to wait 72 hours before attaching the remaining pieces of the pole to the piece that is inserted into the concrete.
Aside from a bit more prep work, an in-ground unit offers many of the same options as do other hoops. With the benefit of longevity and sturdiness, it can be the hoop enthusiasts greatest procurement for their home court!
